Ground truth before recommendations
We don't build on the version of events that gets presented in the leadership meeting. We go look. The uncomfortable finding in week two is worth more than the polished deck in week ten.
About the firm
Live Oak Security Group was formed to work where conventional consulting tends to stop — after the recommendation and before the result.
Who we are
We are a senior-led advisory practice based in the DFW Metroplex, working with clients nationally. Our background is in security technology, enterprise sales, and systems engineering — three disciplines that meet constantly in practice and almost never in the same consulting firm.
We stay small on purpose. Every engagement is staffed by the people you meet in the first conversation. There is no bench of junior analysts learning your business on your budget, and no partner who appears at the kickoff and again at the readout.
That constrains how much work we take. It also means we can say, honestly, that the person recommending something is the person who will be there when it has to work.
How we operate
We don't build on the version of events that gets presented in the leadership meeting. We go look. The uncomfortable finding in week two is worth more than the polished deck in week ten.
We take no referral fees, commissions, or reseller margin from any manufacturer or integrator. When we recommend a platform, our only stake is whether it was the right call.
A plan that requires everything to happen at once is a plan that doesn't happen. We order work so that the first phase pays for and de-risks the second.
The recommendation is the easy part. We remain through selection, deployment, and adoption, and we measure the result against the baseline we set at the start.
Some problems need a law firm, a staffing decision, or a specialist we're not. Saying so in the first call costs us a contract and saves you a quarter.
We do not publish client names, use engagements in marketing, or repeat what we learn in one organization inside another. Security work runs on discretion.
The name
The live oak is the tree that stays green through a Texas winter and holds through the storms that take everything around it. Its root system is wider than its canopy — most of the structure is the part you don't see.
That is a reasonable description of a security program worth having. The visible portion — the cameras, the badge readers, the dashboards — is the smallest part of it. What determines whether it holds is underneath: the procedures, the data, the ownership, the decisions made years before anything went wrong.
We work on the part underneath.
Fit
First conversations are free and diagnostic. Bring the messy version of the problem — that's the one worth discussing.
